The new 2013 Volvo XC90′s are rolling onto dealership lots, and they are bringing some exciting aesthetic changes along for the ride.

The already sleek XC90 has been given a more sophisticated exterior appearance through complete color coordination. Accents like intake trim and rear-view mirror caps are now displayed in chrome, and the rear of the new XC90 features a LED brake and guide lighting. The combination of these features gives the appearance that the new XC90 is lower to the ground, and even sleeker than in model years past.

The interior of the 2013 XC90 is just as sophisticated, with sanded silver inlays and sovereign hide soft leather upholstery. The new three-spoke sport steeling wheel is wrapped in leather, and the audio display and instruments are illuminated in white lighting.

Volvo Corporation revealed its concept for an XC60 electric hybrid at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

Volvo’s plug-in vehicle would allow drivers to choose between three different driving styles: pure, hybrid, and power. Pure mode drives solely on electricity and can drive up to 35 miles on its own and can reach 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds.

The vehicle uses a 260 horsepower, four-cylinder gasoline engine. The gasoline engine powers the front wheels, and a 70 horsepower electric motor directs power to the rear.

What makes this particular hybrid extraordinary is that it will be among the first to use a standard electrical outlet for a charge. The hybrid XC60′s electric motor uses a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery, so it can be full charges in 3.5 hours with a 220V outlet or in 7.5 hours with a 110V outlet.

“A plug-in vehicle is a great step for Volvo to break into the green movement,” says

A hybrid Volvo is scheduled for release in the 2015 model year, and Volvo has not yet definitiely determined whether the vehicle will be an XC60.
